Theatrical Performance of Wingies : Dont get psyched !!!

This is a compendium by various types of psychological behaviour recorded before and during the GRE Exam :

Golu : Profile : My neighbour : Electrical Dept Stud

Definitely he was the coolest and most level headed that day. His friend Biti notes that Golu is always cool during the exams. Thats why he optmizes his mental faculties and performs the best. He should have been tensed because 2 days before he had got a meagre 350 in Verbal Section in Powerprep tests (!!! definitely a cause of tension) . But Golu proved why he is the best and scored 1350 !!!

Saif :Profile:My wingy: Instru Stud

Expected to score over 1400 ... But definitely tension gripped him. Had to cancel his test as he bungled up his Maths as he says.Is giving GRE again on Nov 2.

Bhutto: Profile: Wingy : e-Stud

Expected to score over 1400 ... Same story ... Bungled up maths ..Cancelled the exam.

Chajju: Profile: My neighbour : IEEE stud

Lost his nerves the previous night. Had a nite-out ... Cancelled his test even before appearing ... Going through it again ...

Moral Of the Story : Don't get psyched ... Cool guys Rule

Histrionics on G -Day : Session 3

People prepare for the ordeal in different ways ... but some people are not just confident enough. Here is a list of several actions/ inactions done by my friends on the Day of GRE :
My Own Story: I was not so confident about making a good score in the test. Definetely not cool. But I consider myself quite phlegmatic on that day. Exam was at 9:00 AM and I was kicked out of the bed at 7:00 by my Gult friends against my normal routine of 11:00 AM during that period. Munched a few biscuits and then waited outside the Prometric center. I think I have a fetish for Bengali girls and acted like a Peeping Tom on the female test- takers. One was named Ander Jain. My heart immediately fluttered as does the heart of any girl abnegated guy. Another Bong girl in Kurtas was also damn beautiful.

Reading all these, you may assert that I was damn cool before the test to have observed all these facts but .... definitely I was tensed.

Action is Eloquence : GRE Fundas Unravelled Session 2

Action is Eloquence
- William Shakespeare
I got the quote by Bard of Avon from a famous site on quotations and these words immediately caught my attention. I donot know what Shakespeare meant by these but I will try to elicit out some significance out of these in the next few lines.
I believe Shakespeare tries to convice us that actions of a man speak about himself. How he reacts to situations, challenges and threats in his life signify determine his personality traits and they bespeak for themselves.

GRE Funda 1
Deciding the date : Please try to keep atleast 3 months for your GRE preparation and it will be better for you if it includes a one month break from academic life ( semester break).
Starting Off : Please donot start straight way from Barron's book. First enjoy the lucid Norman Lewis - Word Power made Easy. It shows in a very convincing way the best way to learn and gather new words in your vocabulary. You wiil gather some important GRE words as well as the techniques of a good etymologist. It will take hardly 10 days to finish the book. So go for it.
